Modern Russian 1
Modern Russian 1, the cornerstone of this course, has been utilized by NASA, major corporations, and many satisfied individuals. Modern Russian 1 consists of 24 audio-cassettes, and course book. Modern Russian takes advantage of the audio-lingual approach to learning a language. The audio-lingual approach assumes that fluency in a foreign language is acquired more by intensive practice than by intellectual analysis. Modern Russian has 18 chapters covering pronunciation, the alphabet, verb rules, basic sentences and much more. Each of the 18 chapters has a basic conversation, pronunciation practice, structure drills and reading and writing. The course would take a class around 1 year to complete at 3 to 5 hours per week.
Memory Course
These tapes include some English making them useful for when you are on the go. Each tape has a variety of lessons on it, with each taking advantage of excellent production values to give you an enjoyable learning experience. The memory tapes include many conversations that are helpful to the traveler or business person. There are also dialogues, stories, and music on the tape. The included transcript book has the complete text of the tape in English and Russian, plus the book contains written exercises, explanations, and more.
Vocabulary Tapes
You have to know the words of the language if you are going to speak it and these two tapes focus purely on vocabulary while teaching you over 1,000 words not taught in the main course. These tapes are included free as part of the intensive package.
Dictionary
A concise travel sized Russian and English dictionary is included as part of the package.
